"Divine Etro, go peacefully to your rest. I will stand guard over your legacy."
Name: Lightning Farron
Age: 21
Which game are you from: Final Fantasy XIII/2
The tide could turn so fast to this degree[/font]
History:
If we want to be precise, Lightning herself was born upon the ashes of a young girl named Claire Farron. And Claire's tale truly begins upon the tragic deaths of her parents; her father first, and then her mother, respectively. Claire was too young to remember her father's passing, but her mother's death at the raw age of fifteen was something she wanted nothing more than to forget. I have to be strong for Serah, Claire told herself—and she became Lightning. To care for her younger sister, she enlisted in the Guardian Corps.
On Lightning's twenty-first birthday, Serah made two announcements: firstly, that she was a Pulse l'Cie, and secondly that she was engaged to her boyfriend, Snow (whom Lightning despised). Believing Serah's words to be an elaborate scheme to get her blessing, Lightning scoffed at her younger sister, and at Snow as he tried to convince her it was the truth. It was a vain effort. After Snow's departure, Lightning opens her present to find a survival knife. Lamenting how practical it was, a Sanctum bulletin announced to her the presence of a Pulse fal'Cie inside Bodhum, and the soldier realized that her sister was telling her the truth.
Even though Sanctum staff and soldiers were exempt from the ensuing Purge of Bodhum, Lightning boarded the train in order to find her sister. There, she met a man named Sazh Katzroy, who accompanied her along into the bowels of the Pulse Vestige. She is eventually reunited with Serah, as well as Snow, and two tag-alongs, Vanille (an energetic young woman) and Hope Estheim (a teenage boy clearly scared by the circumstances). But the Farron sisters' reunion is soon cut short, as Serah tells them to save Cocoon, then crystallizes, shedding a single crystal tear. This, Lightning soon believes, is the death of her sister, much in the way that she lost her parents.
The group eventually splinters off and they go their separate ways. But it isn't many days until they're reunited again, and with a sixth ranger, a feisty woman named Fang. Both Vanille and Fang were Pulsians that fought in the War of Transgression as l'Cie, until they were crystallized for five hundred years. They woke and realized that Cocoon was just as scared of Gran Pulse as they had been of Cocoon. So they said to hell with their Focus, and agreed to help in the crusade to free Cocoon's people from the Sanctum. Little did they know, but soon found out, that Cocoon's very own Primarch, Galenth Dysley, was a fal'Cie.
They soon learned that the Cocoon fal'Cie were conspiring to bring about the end of their home in the sky in order to summon the Maker. To do this, there had to be a large sacrifice of human lives to open the doorway to the Unseen World. Cocoon's destruction was the only viable option to achieve this end, and the suicidal fal'Cie were hellbent on making it happen.
In the end, after chasing shadows, fighting many perilous battles, and wresting themselves from the throes of despair, the group defeated Orphan and put an end to the Cocoon fal'Cie once and for all. Without its fal'Cie, Cocoon no longer had a power source, and began to fall towards Gran Pulse. But a miracle happened that day, as Vanille and Fang sacrificed themselves—turning themselves into Ragnarok and crystallizing Cocoon itself, a pillar of crystal preventing it from crashing into the world below. Fang and Vanille were put into crystal stasis, as were the rest of the l'Cie—Lightning, Snow, Sazh, and Hope—but the latter of them didn't stay there for long. They soon woke to find their home intact and their brands gone. The Farron sisters are reunited once again, or at least, that's how Serah originally remembers it.
Thanks to the goddess, Etro, the group is woken again from their crystal stasis, their brands erased—but this miracle the goddess granted them came with an unforeseen price. Lightning is promptly dragged into an abyss of chaos, a paradox caused by Etro's well-meant deed. The former soldier is brought through the Historia Crux into Valhalla, the place where Etro herself resides, and becomes the goddess's knight into order to protect her.
Weapons:
Lightning now wields a gunblade similar to her Blazefire Saber, if only with some modifications. Instead of holstering it in her previous scabbard, she can summon and dispel it when and where ever she chooses. It possesses an inscription that reads, "Gladius in turba aetern a induratus vincula inserepabilia rum," which, in English, translates to, "The blade forged in everlasting chaos shall cleave the unbreakable chain." She also carries a shield on her left arm.
Magic:
Paladin; Attack/Blitz |Ruin/Ruinga
Mage; Thunder/Thundara/Thundaga
Knight; Immortality
Shaman; Galestrike/Windstorm/Bladestorm
Summons:
Lightning has been seen summoning both Odin, her Eidolon in her l'Cie days, and Bahamut as she has needed them.

"I'm not your friend!" Darkstorm snarled immediately, his words stoking fires that had ignited in the pit of her belly. She gave him a hiss, wanting to jump down there and rip him apart, but even in her anger, she saw that to be senseless. I'll drag him up here, she decided. I'll drag him up here so I can rip his throat out then push him back down again! "Rejoin MountainClan?" she snarled again, her amber eyes alight with hatred. "Grayfur, I have plenty say in the matter! But I'll run you out of here myself, if I have to!" By now, she was shaking in her fury, pacing back and forth along the edge of the hole.
That's when Rippedpaw suddenly tumbled down into it next to Grayfur. Serves her right, Darkstorm thought, tail lashing back and forth. "You're both fools!" she spat down at them. "And now you're both stuck down there." They would probably have to get them both out of the hole eventually. And that was just fine with her. As soon as that happened, she'd strike him, hard and fast. Her eyes narrowed.
Before she realized it, Barbclaw was at her side, and a hiss emanated from his maw. As the other warrior's words reached her ears, she felt a rush of satisfaction, though she shouldn't have been at all surprised. Barbclaw probably hated Grayfur as much as she did, perhaps more. And now, the both of them would be able to tag-team the traitor. "Barbclaw," she growled quietly, though not caring if anybody else heard, "I want to kill him." She turned her head to glance at the other warrior. "Do you?" She already knew what his answer would be, and silently rejoiced at the thought of running her claws through Grayfur's mangy hide. It was only a matter of time.
