History: Squall Leonhart is the son of Raine and Laguna Loire, though his father never knew Raine was pregnant with him. He was born in the village of Winhill where Raine died shortly after Squall was born and he was sent to an orphanage on the Centra continent to be raised. Whilst growing up at the orphanage he became close friends with Ellone and would refer to her as his big sis. One day she disappeared from the orphanage and no one would tell Squall why she left, he assumed she had abandoned him. This was the starting point of his closed off and defensive personality, Squall emotionally detaches himself and becomes quite introverted so he is never hurt again.
Edea and Cid Kramer the owners of the orphanage set up the organisation known as SeeD which is an anti sorceress force. He joins SeeD as he was not adopted and chooses to use the gunblade as his weapon. Seifer also chooses this weapon which creates the rivalry they still have today.
Squall passes his SeeD exam unlike Seifer and becomes a full fledged member of SeeD, it is at the SeeD ball he meets Rinoa Heartilly. He is forced into dancing with her and unknowingly to him she is his first employer as a SeeD. He assists Rinoa and the Timber Owls with her mission of freeing Timber from Galbadia's rule. Throughout the journey Squall's emotions and personal choices are put to the test especially when Rinoa falls into a deep coma after their battle against Sorceress Edea. He takes it upon himself to watch over her and protect her. When Rinoa is possessed by Ultimecia to free Sorceress Adel Squall rushes to her aid when she is floating in space, he catches her in his arms and they board the Ragnarok.
Once they land back onto the planet Rinoa is taken away by Esthar to be put into custody as she is now a sorceress. After being forced into reason by his friends, Squall frees Rinoa from the Sorceres Memorial. It is here he finally shows his true emotions to Rinoa and promises to her Knight even if all the world was her enemy.
After their epic and final battle which sees Squall lost and trapped in the void, Rinoa comes to his aid and uses her sorceress powers to bring him back home. They share their first kiss on the balcony of Balam Garden under the moonlight.

Role Play Sample: Adiona watched on as Zero was subdued by Nero, who was this man well she assumed he was a man. He heard his muffled voice say something to Zero…..but what. Wanting to know more Adiona picked up the pace but stopping dead in her tracks. Adiona gasped as she saw Zero’s form change. Two large black wings…….his eyes…..what happened? Adiona started to sprint over to him but again stopped in her tracks as she fully saw what her….soul mate was capable of. He was……..what was he now? What in Yevon was he doing? Quickly glaring to Nero she shook her head and ran over to Zero who was at this point hovering in the air.
“What the hell is going on with you? Zero what are you doing……I understand your blood lust but this is not you.”
Looking up to her lover….seeing him like this brought tears to her eyes…..finally releasing her emotion she dropped to her knees.
“Zero please……..you can’t let him take over this is not right and you know it. I have never seen you like this before…….your eyes…..so empty and cold. You can’t do this to me…….you can’t I won’t let you. Just remember back to what it was like when we first met……to the day you saved me in Midgar. You have to remember……I fell to the ground exhausted……you risked our cover to save me…why? You know why it’s because you love me as I love you. Yes we are the darkest souls on Gaia…….but that just proves we are kindred spirts……..Zero please you can’t abandon me like this.”
Staying on her knees pouring her heart out to her lost and lonely lover, she looked deeply into his eyes…….just black. Nothing but the darkness seemed to be in him now. Wiping her eyes Adiona stood to her feet and pointed her staff to him.
“I won’t let you hurt me Zero…….I vowed a long time ago to let no man rule over me…..not anymore Zero.”
Screaming hard her staff began to vibrate violently…..her whole body now shaking with rage. A bright fiery glow emitted from her staff, still crying Adiona shot out her flurry of flames which surrounded Zero. The heat intensified as her anger grew and grew…..her exhaustion from her previous battles was really starting to kick in. Letting out her war cry Adiona turned away ceasing her flurry of flames. Keeping her back to him she began to cry more.
“God dammit Zero…….your stronger than this or at least I thought you were. Ever since you rescued me from the Sin Spawn I have looked up to you as my mentor and saviour……..and you have no idea how honoured and happy I was that we ended up together………but can I say the same thing about you? Well it’s obvious now you don’t care about anyone but yourself………all you really want is fucking power………your just like Celt all you crave is power. You know fine well that will be your downfall……..even if it has to be at my hands.”
Spinning around Adiona slammed her staff back into her belt hook, thrusting her hands out towards him she summoned forth another element to try and take her lover down. The air grew colder and colder……her hands glowing as white as her hair…forming in the middle of the palms of her hands was a large ice spear…..larger than the ones she had summoned before. Her white hot fury saw to that…….never before had she felt this enraged……..but she had never lost a lover to the darkness she so wanted to be a part of. Screaming out she shoved her hands forward releasing the ice spear, falling backwards a few steps as she did. For some reason though…….it missed him completely. Adiona started to walk backwards shaking her head as her tears continued to fall.
“No…….I won’t let it end this way I can’t……..I refuse to believe you are doing this of your own free will. You can’t be……..you don’t know what you’re doing. Zero……can you even hear me under all that darkness? Zero……….your breaking my heart…….if you continue to follow down this path……I ca…….I can’t follow you. Unlike you I am still mortal…….I still have that mortal coil attached to me you which cast that away so long ago.”
Adiona stopped walking backwards her heart breaking with each step she took with word she spoke to him, but getting……nothing. Just nothing from him he really was dead to this world now. No more would he be there to hold her hand……to place his arm around her…..to offer advice……just being there for her. Shaking her head Adiona began to walk slowly towards him…..if she could break through him before she still had a chance now. Talk was futile even she knew that……but she had to try something if this didn’t work then…..Adiona didn’t even want to think down that road. Looking around as each of the warriors did battle Adiona began to think back to her first battles after leaving her home town of Bevelle. Even though they were against mindless fiends…….that was where the blood lust truly started her hunger to kill…….to satisfy her insatiable appetite for carnage. Even herself being injured just made her want to maim and destroy even more. Her eyes looked back up to Zero this time not full of sadness……..but of pure white hot rage. Growling she stood just a few feet in front of where he hovered in the air. His large black wings……the two swords he had seemingly acquired…….it was an image to be hold an image of power very true……..but that didn’t mean Adiona had to like it. His eyes were nothing but two blackholes……his strength immense……he had even managed to throw Chaos to the ground. So that is who Chaos was? He seemed like a big pussycat compared to Zero now…..but who was she more afraid of? Pffft as if she even had to ask herself that……no longer could she be broken physically the thing is………Zero knew exactly how to break her emotionally. Shivering as she stood before him……..her eyes still streaming……they wouldn’t stop but her heart ached for him to just to fly down and be himself once more. To just throw his swords down and take her in his arms like he had done when they first arrived on the Lost Continent. Sitting by the fire……nothing but the sound of the crackling flames of the fire and her beating heart. Being taken into his arms was pure pleasure, never feeling like that before in her life. Becoming one with her soul mate, her kindred spirit in life and maybe even in death for her. Why couldn’t things go back to the way they were……..the both of them killing for the pure ecstasy of it.
“I know this is my fault……if I hadn’t have stepped into the portal of darkness we wouldn’t have ended up in that little angel’s sanctuary, we wouldn’t have fought him and we then wouldn’t been transported here to Nibleheim. This is my fault and I do only have myself to blame…but since I started this I guess it’s only but right that I finish this……humph who would have thought……two lovers facing off one another in a battle of darkness and shadows. Payback can be a bitch……but there is one thing you should know Zero…….I am THE bitch and you’re in for a rough ride.”
Knowing in her heart she didn’t even mean half the things she said to him it still hurt to say them……but what else could she do to snap him out of this. Slamming her black knee high boots into the ground she once more thrust her arms forward in the direction of Zero. This time summoning two fireballs from her hands…..looking to Zero she smirked while cocking her head to the side. Throwing both of her hands forward releasing the fireballs. Screaming she grabbed her chest in agony…….what the hell was wrong with her. Her chest was so tight like she couldn’t breathe, dropping to one knee while holding her chest she looked up to see her fireballs just fly past Zero.
“God dammit!!!!”
Lowering her head she looked to the ground and began to cry in annoyance…..what was wrong with her. This had never really happened to her before, she was never this off with her magic’s. Glancing back up to Zero he seemed to be…….smirking? Was he smirking at her and her failure to attack him? Her eyes burned into him as their past ran through her mind……everything they had shared everything they had spoken about was all a waste. Getting groggily to her feet Adiona just stood dropping her arms to her side. Shaking her head she lowered the tone and pitch of her voice as she tried to speak to Zero once more.
“I’m never going to get fully in am I…..there is always going to be that barrier you put up in front of your emotions and feelings. Zero……I’m more than just your partner you should know that by now, after everything we have shared everything we have been through….you can’t just throw all this away. I love you Zero I always have and I always will…..no matter what happens we are stronger than this……or at least I thought we were. It’s obvious to me now that the darkness really does have a tight hold over you……yes I want to fully give myself to the darkness but not if this is what will happen. If it requires me to hurt the one person I love and respect……..it’s not fucking worth the hassle……I have to release you from this Zero If not me then who. Who would be willing to bring you back from this dark abyss?”
Her chest still as tight as before, her heart almost now beating out of her chest, her breathing heavy and deep……what was there left to fight for anymore. If Zero was not there then why bother. Standing to her feet once more she slowly placed her arms out in front of her…..closing her eyes she decided to give it one last real try to fight him or bring him down even. Her hands shaking at first but becoming more and more violent, slamming one foot behind to give herself extra balance she slammed her foot in front. Her arms outstretched to him almost asking him to take her by the hand…..to take her away from all this to just be with her. A mixture of lights began to emerge from her hands…..blues, reds, yellows……flashing radiantly around the battlefield lighting up the darkest corners. First a loud crackle sounded from Adiona….a lightening bolt balancing in between her hands as she summoned forth her next element. A white flash lit up Adiona’s whole body the light reflecting off her pale blue eyes….another ice spear the lightning now wrapping itself around the spear dancing elegantly as it waited to be released onto its target. Almost done Adiona called forth her next element……the sounds of the calming waves washed over Adiona soothing her soul in this difficult time. A sudden flash of water cascaded down from the heavens onto Adiona and her culminating magical attack. Splashing down onto the ice spear the lightening began to react more violently. Instead of the graceful dance it had ensued it now began to spark and shoot off from all angles. Stumbling to the side Adiona steadied herself with her feet once more as she kept her hands outstretched. The time had almost come to release her attack just one more element to add…….her favourite. Opening her eyes Adiona glared to Zero…….the heat not only rising within her body. Appearing between her slender fingertips small streams of fire wrapped themselves around the crackling lightening.
“You will pay for this Zero…….no man treats me this way……no man.”
As she released her most powerful attack time seemed to stand still as she did or in slow motion even. Zero still hovering in the air, still looking down on her, still with that damned smirk on his deathly face. Adiona still glaring up to him…..not taking her eyes of him not for a second. She knew it could potentially be disastrous if she did……she knew how powerful he was….it would take just one wrong move and then…well you get the idea. Snapping back to reality as the combined elemental attack launched itself at Zero striking him full force in the chest, an eye blinding light of multi colours spread out over Nibleheim. The force of the blast sent Adiona backwards slamming her against a large rock. Her back collided with the rock which sent a pain shooting through her body, grabbing her back Adiona fell forwards onto her knees and hand. Her head lowered she could feel the cold rain falling onto the back of neck and bare arms. Not daring to look up to see if her attack had succeeded in bringing down her lover she closed her eyes tight…….holding back more tears as her mind flashed back to the day they were reunited.
Starting out like any other day, training as normal anything to keep away from those priests……the day she had first met Reigen vanishing into the shadows once he had finished speaking with her. Being called to Lord Seymour’s chambers was a very rare occurrence……at first she had though she was in some sort of trouble……but opening the door to his chamber’s had would change her life. Her eyes focusing upon Zero…….he had come back to Bevelle, Adiona didn’t even care why all she cared about was that she was with him once more. Her heart had lifted when her eyes ran over him once more…….this was not one of her dreams he was really here. Being asked to travel together had just excited Adiona that bit more….she would be near him…..him who had saved her from death…him who she had become to love.
Shaking her head Adiona snapped her eyes open she had to look, she had to see even if he was on the ground, and she had to see him. Slowly lifting her head she saw nothing on the ground at eye level, but lifting her head higher and higher she saw him still in the air……still smirking…..his arms now crossed over his chest. Taking her hand from her back she slammed it hard into the dirt ground, and then slamming both. Beginning to cry again she sobbed uncontrollably.
“What do you want from me!? What the hell is this…….some kind of test? Why are you doing this? Don’t you even love me anymore? You are lost to this world now Zero and I can’t follow you down this path.”
Once more slowly getting to her feet she ran towards him and stood in front of him once more, sliding to stop herself she raised her hand and pointed to him.
“You will not be the end of me Zero…….no man will you can break my body like any mortal’s but you will not break my spirit. You are the weak one here and I will show you just how weak you really are.”
