"If you return your memories to him, you'll disappear. And since everything about you was built on those memories... no one will remember you when you're gone. There won't be any "you" to remember. I can't save you, Xion--even a memory of you."
Name: Namine
Age: 16 (in appearance)
Which game are you from: Kingdom Hearts
The tide could turn so fast to this degree
History: Namine was born the Nobody of Kairi. However, her birth was unique and special. While she was made form Kairi's heart, she was made from Sora's body and soul. This happened when Sora stabbed himself with a keyblade to free Kairi's heart, which was inside him. Afterwards, unbeknownst to Sora and company, Namine was found by Organization XIII. They put her to use in Castle Oblivion, under the watch of Marluxia. However, he was planning to overthrow the Organization, along with Larxee and Axel. So, the three used Namine to manipulate Sora's memories and draw him to the castle. Having no memories, she didn't have anything to base her actions on, and simply followed whatever they said.
This included replacing Kairi with herself and having many of the people Sora knew and met on his journey forget about him. However, over time, Namine saw how her captor's orders were hurting people, and thus her guilt grew. It grew to such an extent that she started to rebel against Marluxia and Larxene. She constantly did her best to help Sora, going as far as shattering Riku Replica's heart to save him, and throwing herself between him and Larxene.
Eventually, once Sora defeated Marluxia, Namine offered to restore his original memories at the cost of his current ones, meaning he'd forget all about her. Donald and Goofy would too. When they all agreed, they were put in pods and stayed there for a year, asleep, while she restored their memories.
In this time, Namine helps Riku in conquering the darkness in his heart. As he confronts Zexion, she encourages him in the form of Kairi, allowing him to successfully strike the Organization member. They meet up again on the urge of DiZ, and Namine offers to seal away the darkness in Riku's heart completely, even though he'd have to sleep like Sora. He refused and she saw it as the right choice, since he chose to fight it himself. DiZ then convinces Namine to move Sora, Donald, and Goofy to his laboratory in Twilight Town due to the castle still being under Organization XIII's control.
As she, with the help of Riku and DiZ, try to restore Sora's memories, it was taking longer than they expected. Namine discovered that some of Sora's memories that had "leaked" out got feelings and became an individual being, due to one of Xemnas's experiments. This being was known as Xion, and Namine informed DiZ of the fact that her existence may halt Sora's awakening. She also tells Xion of her status as a replica of Roxas, and what it means to both him and Sora.
After Xion is gone, one with Roxas (or something like that...), Namine goes back to restoring Sora's memories. However, she still has trouble since he was incomplete without Roxas, his Nobody. Roxas is placed in a digital Twilight Town then, until he was needed to complete Sora. During this time, Namine seeks to shed light on his situation, to explain his position and help him due to their similar situations. However, she was stopped by Riku and doesn't pursue the topic anymore until the next day. Then, she informs Roxas of his status as a Nobody, and various other pieces of information, finally revealing he wasn't supposed to exist. She stopped after this, and didn't see him again until his final day. Then, she attempts to tell him he wouldn't disappear when he fused with Sora, that he'd become whole. But DiZ stops her and along with Riku, they disappear into a Corridor of Darkness.
With Sora's memories now restored, DiZ ordered Riku to dispose of Namine since she was of no use. However, he simply put her in the care of Axel, since he was angry and bitter at DiZ by this time. A while after, Namine broke into the Organization's headquarters. She rescued Kairi and Pluto, and proposed to find Sora. However, she was fused with Kairi due to being so close for a period of time.
Once Xemnas was defeated, Namine is the one who opened the corridor of darkness to the way back to Destiny Islands. In recent times, when the calamity hit all of the worlds, Namine found herself split from Kairi again.
Weapons: Sketchpad
Magic: Memory Manipulation- Allows Namine to manipulate Sora's and anyone connected to him's memories. She can take apart existing memory "links", and either rearrange or replace them all together, implanting fake memories. It's possible to restore said memories, but it takes a very long time to complete. However, she'll only use this when absolutely necessary due to past experience with it. (Specifically for plot only)
Summons: n/a
Can't believe my eyes how can you be so blind
Role Play Sample: When Sora chose to regain his memories, Namine would not try to hide the fact that she felt disappointed. Ever since she'd been found by the Organization, she'd wanted to meet him, to cure her loneliness...to have a friend. However, it had never been Sora's choice. He didn't know the memories of her were all fake, and if he did, he would have never given up Kairi for a stranger. In fact, Namine wasn't sure he'd give Kairi up for anything. Yet, even so, she tried to take her place. She tried to become Sora's Kairi. But, she realized soon that that wasn't possible. The red haired girl would always be in Sora's heart, she knew that. Namine even used that fact to try to open his eyes, so he could see that no matter what memories she'd given him, no matter what she wanted, she was not Kairi.
It worked. Eventually, Sora found out they'd never met before. Everything he remembered, everything he thought he remembered, was a lie. Yet, he still smiled at her. After what she'd done, he forgave her. Now, all she could do was help him. Piecing his memories back together, restoring him to his original self. The cost was that he wouldn't remember her. Or at least, not the 'her' who'd been at Castle Oblivion. The 'her' that tampered with his memories, and for selfish reasons, in her opinion. If she could have seen what would happen in the future, Namine knew that she would have defied Marluxia before she got Sora involved in anything.
However, that was the past. She couldn't change it. All she could do was go forward, and do whatever it took to restore Sora's memories, absolutely anything, and correct all of the damage she'd done. Even if...even if it meant sacrificing another existence.
Xion, and even Roxas, were both the result of her mistake, her interference. Both would never have existed, never had to suffer through the undeniably harsh outcome, the outcome where they couldn't exist if Sora was to wake up, if she hadn't listened to Marluxia. To Namine, Sora was everything. He came above anything and anyone else in her life, and that included Roxas and Xion. Looking down at her current picture, it was almost ironic that she happened to be working on the very trio caught up in her predicament: Axel, Roxas, and Xion. It was ultimately Roxas and Xion involved, yet in her picture, Axel fit right in. The three were all...friends. Something she had never experienced. Sora was perhaps the only friend she had, if you could truly call him that, but they'd never sat and talked, or had ice cream together or anything else the people in her drawing did so routinely.
Sighing and ceasing her hand's movements, and ultimately the drawing's progress, the blonde Nobody placed her sketchpad on the table in front of her. Folding her hands neatly in her lap, she stared at the unfinished drawing. Not exactly focusing on the image itself, but rather making it the target of her eyes while her mind stayed buried in thought. In short, there were two possible ways to reawaken Sora where Xion was concerned.
The first, was that she would absorb Roxas. The boy would have to fuse with Sora eventually, as did Xion. If this were to happen, it was almost guaranteed the Organization would attempt to control her; even keep her from fusing with Sora. Namine could not let such a thing take place; not after what she'd done, after everything that's happened. It almost seemed like letting Xion exist...was dangerous in itself. The only thing left then...would be to eliminate her.
Sora never had a choice. When he got his memories fooled with, he never knew what was happening; the consequences. But Xion, she at least deserved to make her own choice. All Namine had to do, was open the replica's eyes. What was best for everyone, well, there really was only one choice. This way, she would know everything. After being the Organization's puppet, Namine could at least give her a small piece of freedom to choose her fate. That much, Xion definitely had a right to.
Letting out a small sigh, the blonde Nobody reached for her colored pencil. Adding on the final, finishing strokes, she could only wonder when the time would come, when she no longer remembered who this girl was, or why she even drew her.
