History:
"It was me. All of it. I'm Shibuya's Composer."
Yoshiya Kiryu (who states in-game that his parents call him Joshua) is the second partner Neku gains. He is a special player in that he is not dead, yet can see the UG. He seems to have known Neku before he came to the Underground as the flashbacks show (Joshua is running towards Neku with a gun in his hand and it appears that Neku is shot.) However, in the last flashback, it is shown that Joshua was not aiming for Neku, but for the second game master, Sho Minamimoto, who had followed Joshua to the RG in an attempt to kill him and become the Composer. Wounded, Minamimoto tries in desperation to shoot Joshua; however, Joshua's undiminished powers as the Composer enable him to halt the bullets in midair. Joshua then kills Neku as he had originally intended, enabling Neku to be his partner during the second Chapter.
At the end of the "Joshua" Chapter, he is shown to sacrifice himself to protect Neku from a level "i" flare attack. According to the secret reports written by Hanekoma, however, it is revealed that Joshua transported to a parallel universe just before receiving the blow of Minamimoto's attack. This universe is seen in the "Another Day" chapter, where Joshua meets the "Tin Pin"-obsessed alternative versions of Neku, Shiki, Beat, and himself.
At the end of the third week (Beat's week) Joshua appears in the final fight against the Conductor's final form, Draco Cantus. After Neku defeats Kitaniji, Joshua reveals that he himself is the Composer. Also, in addition to not being killed by Minamimoto, Neku was never the Reapers' target. Joshua killed Neku so that Neku could be his proxy in his and Kitaniji's game to see if Shibuya would be destroyed or not. After Kitaniji is erased (due to having failed his mission and the timer running out) Joshua proposes one last "game" to Neku. Both of them have a revolver, and they both shoot on zero, with the survivor becoming the Composer. Neku does not fire a shot, and Joshua remains Composer. However, Joshua unexpectedly chooses to maintain Shibuya, as Neku and three other players (Shiki, Beat and Rhyme) meet in the RG in front of Hachiko in the end. It is revealed in the Secret Reports that this is because Joshua realized that if Neku, the "worst person in Shibuya" could change, then so could Shibuya.
As a slight Easter egg, Joshua is also seen in Shiki Day 1, before the frog noise show up at Hachiko.
In the bonus chapter Another Day, he enters the Slam-off along with Neku, Shooter, and Kitaniji, being decribed as "the Roy G. Biv of Tin Pin Tactics". He joins Shooter and the rest of the Spirits. He is the only one to suspect Rhyme's ("Black") betrayal, and later on chooses the rainbow colored slammer.
Weapons: His phone<3
Magic: A form of telekinesis.
Joshua attacks by typing in digits on a phone to summon random objects to bombard enemies from above.
Ground: If Joshua types in just a few digits, smaller objects will be summoned. By typing in more digits, adding to his "combo", Joshua can summon larger objects. The largest he can use though is the size of a car and it takes a lot of digits. The attack happens once he's finished typing the necessary digits in. Also, he can only use stationary and nonliving objects.
Levitation: [stronger against groups of enemies and immune to ground attacks such as quake] During this Joshua is able to use special attacks, but he won't be able to use his phone. He can reach a height of about 5-6 feet.
Camera: Low chance of temporary immobilization. Can of course be resisted by the stronger willed. It doesn't last very long anyways, maybe half a post to a post. Once a day, it can take 3 photos of the past.
Jesus Beams/Super Jesus Beams: [There's no canon name for the attack so I'm just going by fanon] While levitating, Joshua is able to call down beams of light upon the opponent. At the end of the combo, a larger beam will be called down, with small seraphic creatures around it. Two smaller beams will also fall down to the sides, but these aren't nearly as powerful. His stronger version of this attack will have two of the larger beams fall down.
Composer of Shibuya: Obviously, being the Composer of Shibuya gives Joshua a couple of special abilities. Such as complete control over the UG, being ageless, and the ability to freely disguise himself as a human.

Hands in his pockets, a calm yet bemused expression on his face as always, the sandy blonde haired teen weaved his way through the crowds, his expression never changing. Quietly, he made his way towards what was known as the Shopping District, feeling the jingle of change in his pocket. This was apparently called "munny" and while its owner hadn't been too willing to part with it, Joshua had only been all too willing to take it. Not forcefully of course, he'd never stoop that low. But through subtle means, a teeny bit of manipulation and a bet, it had just been so easy to get what he needed. However, the poor fool had looked extremely...upset and irrational. Irrational people who were upset tended to do stupid things. That was why Joshua was now heading away from the scene, towards somewhere more interesting. It wasn't that he didn't think he could handle the man if it came to that but right now, he just wasn't in the mood. Maybe later~
The rumble of noise and people grew louder as he entered the District, since there was quite a lot of people out looking to buy things like food, fun, neccessaties. All of them, with their own thoughts, feelings, stories, memories. Curious, Joshua looked around. To each other, they were just another face in the crowd. Just another person passing you by. Did any of these people...Did they reach out? Try to expand their world beyond it boundaries? Or did they simply keep to themselves, keeping their world small and private. This place had no Composer, no UG. Really, it was...curious. The music this city makes...Is it a painful clash of sounds, chaos and disorder? Or is it freedom, something new and unique? He'd have to stick around and find out. See just what path this world was taking. Not that he could have done anything but observe yet...Observing was enough. Joshua had enough on his hands just handling Shibuya, he had no real desire to get caught up in the issues of this place. Shibuya...It was decided that this would be considered a "vacation" from his job. He deserved it after all, having not taken a day off in so long~
So, therefore, he was going to let himself have fun. Though his kind of fun might be hard on other people. Who should he have fun with first? Looking around, Joshua searched for a likelyvictimparticipant in historturefun.
"...I have to be so small...”
"Hm?" Looking up towards the sound of the voice, Joshua raised an eyebrow at the sight that greeted him. What was that? Some sort of little robot person? Slowing his steps, violet eyes studied Impact, making observations and noting facts. He had a feeling he'd just found exactly the kind of person he was looking for. And so quickly too, wasn't he a lucky boy? Time to approach and make himself known.
"I suppose your height would be a problem when faced with tall store windows." Joshua gave his trademark giggle-chuckle as he gazed down at Impact, a thoughtful expression upon his features. Briefly, his gaze shifted upwards to look at what was located in the store. All sorts of pretty little things, from knic knacks, to toys, even jewellry. They glinted in the light cast by the lamps, proudly displayed...with the prices ever so subtly down beside them. Joshua looked back at Impact, curious. What did he have want of such things for? Was he buying something for himself or someone else? Right now his knowledge about the little fellow was pretty much a blank slate...But as he enjoyed himself he planned to fill up that slate with knowledge.
Haha, he was definitely going to have fun on his vacation.
